How do we fight?

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12

We have all had those days that did not go as planned. In fact over the last few years I think we have all had way too many of those days. Our souls are at war against an enemy that wants to steal, kill, and destroy us. The enemy wants to distract us, discourage us, and leave us feeling weighed down to be obedient to what God has called us to do today. I feel it, and after many of the conversations I have had I know I am not alone.

I am here to validate your feelings. To tell you that what you are feeling is real, and you are not alone. I am also here to tell you sister, we are not called to trust our emotions but to trust the Word of God. I am feeling deep in my spirit that this is a time to shout from the rooftops!

“Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Ephesians 5:14

AKA: Believers, it is time to WAKE UP!

We have had the privilege for most of our lives to live at peace in the land of the living. Yes, we might have struggled, but there is something different about the time we live in now. Something is stirring, and it is time for believers to WAKE UP and fight the battle that God has given each one of us to fight.

So, how must believers fight?

Prayer - Prayer is an active way we can fight. If you can go on a walk, or find a quiet place, even if you are in your car, talk to God. I like to talk to God out loud. Prayer is a mystery and a privilege. I am not sure how it all works, but I do know that it works. Scripture has proven this, and my own prayer life has proven that when we pray God moves.

Worship- When we sing hymns, or current worship songs, it reminds us of Truth. We can listen and remember or we can sing loudly and proclaim them. One thing I know about worship, is that when we worship, we are ignoring the lies of the enemy and proclaiming the truths of Christ.

Scripture Memory- this is another offensive weapon. We have millions of thoughts throughout the day. Many of them are not truth. The more we memorize scripture the more we will recognize what is truth and what is a lie.

Community- When two are more are gathered, Jesus is also there. We need each other. There is something so healing when we let others into our personal battles. If you don't say it then no one will know it. When you are living life alone, you are setting yourself up for temptation from the enemy. We are all human, and have blind spots. Let others into your life.

Testimony- listen to the stories of others' lives. I personally love reading biographies of missionaries. When I am struggling to believe, these stories feed my faith.

What in this list do you need to do today? Lets start walking towards the battle in obedience using the tools God has given us!
